Misfiring Rockets headed to relegation

01 Feb, 2012 12:00 AM
ROSAMOND faces the inevitable dreaded relegation from Bowls Victoria's premier division.

The Rockets are out of fizz after slumping to their 10th consecutive loss on Saturday.

They were thrashed 99-68 by western rivals Werribee at Chirnside Park with three of the four rinks going down.

Reed Chanter was able to salvage pride for the Rockets with a 22-20 win over David Zitter.

The narrow victory was sweet for Chanter as it came against a player who defected from the Rockets mid-campaign.

Altona, still in finals contention, snapped a three-game losing streak with a resounding 84-72 win over Clayton.

The A's scooped three of the four rinks with Brad Peck the biggest winner by 14 shots over Dylan Benwell.
