FIRST versus second, two undefeated teams after seven rounds and a game befitting the occasion.

The locals, Altona Seagulls, were the big story as they moved a game clear on top with a runaway 6-2 win over Albury-Wodonga in driving rain at Grant Reserve on Saturday.
Seagulls assistant coach Marc Richardson said the game lived up to the hype.
"We both came down from the top league last year and are looking to go back up again," he said. "There were lots of goalscoring opportunities, lots of tackling and good defensive pressure. It was a very high standard game."
The visitors were seemingly still in the bus when the Seagulls started to apply scoreboard pressure with the opening two goals.
Albury-Wodonga's response was to physically intimidate and it saw the border team peg a goal back by half-time and restore parity only minutes into the second half.
"They are a typical country team who were pretty physical," Richardson said. "They are fit, run hard and are happy to get their bodies in the road.
"They were a bit reckless at times with their tackling, but we stood up real well. We matched them when they challenged us and ran away with it."
The Seagulls were on the back foot. Goalkeeper Taylah Brennan was forced to make a number of high-quality saves and turned the tide of the game. "They had a few chances but she really stood up," Richardson said.
The break the Seagulls were looking for came from none other than hat-trick hero Tegan Purser.
The attacking midfielder started an avalanche of goals. There was no stopping the Seagulls thereafter.
Purser orchestrated the victory. "She scored the third goal, which was crucial for us," Richardson said. "She's on the fringe of the Victorian senior squad so she's just about the best player in the league, I'd say. She has really quick hands and good speed on the ball. She can really take off and beat a player with her acceleration."
Brittany Webster, Taia Leenstra and Stephanie Sarantis also scored in the four-goal win.
The Seagulls can head to the Queen's birthday break content with their achievements in the opening eight rounds.
They will re-load for a crack at western suburbs rivals Footscray at McIvor Reserve in the first game after the break.
