In the first match, the Jets dominated their opponents and the side won by a seven-goal margin.
Jake Ewer was the standout, and team manager Brad Budge said the player was already making a name for himself.
"Jake looked really good on the ball and he has impressed us in training and backed it up on the park," Budge said.
"Peter Bell also played well and Joshua Esposito looks to be one to look out for.
"There were a lot of good performances from a lot of players."
In the second match, the Jets lost by five goals.
Jack Connolly, who plays with Williamstown, was among the best for the Jets. Budge was pleased the club was able to field a number of Sudanese players, who were still "learning the ins and outs of Aussie rules ".
"It wasn't the strongest performance from the team, but it's all about development at this stage," Budge said.
The Jets are back in action midweek when they face the Northern Knights. They complete their match schedule with a game against Oakleigh next Thursday.
The entire squad of 75 players will be invited back in June. They will play intra-club matches and the selectors will then decide which players make the under-16 side.
"A few boys have stood out already, but we will be watching all of them closely until September," Budge said.
