Promising start but Jets just can't win

28 Apr, 2010 09:51 AM
A GOAL-less third quarter has consigned the Western Jets to defeat on the road to the Murray Bushrangers in the TAC Cup at Princes Park in Shepparton on Saturday.

The winless Jets began with promise, holding a 14-point lead at half-time.

But, it all turned pear-shaped thereafter as the Bushies piled on seven of the last eight goals in the second half.

Will Hoskin-Elliott was the most prolific ball winner for the Jets, while Kym Taylor and Jesse Fortune chimed in with three goals apiece.

The Jets host the Gippsland Power in a winnable game at Burbank Oval in Williamstown on Sunday at 11am.

Scoreboard

Murray Bushrangers 12.8 (80) d Western Jets 9.2 (56). Western Jets - Goals: K. Taylor 3, J. Fortune 3, J. Gray, J. Dorgan, D. Schibeci. Best: W. Hoskin-Elliott, K. Taylor, T. Jones, J. Gray, T. Rafferty, J. Mead.
