Altona Vikings in a thriller

28 Apr, 2010 09:54 AM
ALTONA Vikings had a thrilling three-point win over St Albans in a Western Region Football League division 1 low-scoring scrap at JK Grant Reserve.

Only 12 goals were scored - six for either side - in tricky conditions, with the match decided on the three extra behinds scored by the Vikings.

Alex Vivoda had a day out for the Vikings, booting three goals in a best-on-ground performance.

Spotswood booted 37 goals in a 219-point rout of West Footscray at McLean Reserve with comeback kid Mark Keenan contributing a lazy 13 goals to the scoreline.

In other top-flight matches, Hoppers Crossing remains undefeated after a runaway win over Albion; Port Melbourne Colts wiped the floor of Glenorden in a one-sided game and the Sunshine Kangaroos won the Brimbank derby over Sunshine Heights.

In division 2, Yarraville Seddon comfortably accounted for Wyndhamvale.
