THE Victorian Turf Cricket Association held its annual best-and-fairest awards with two Yarraville Club premiership players named in the team of the year for the 2009-10 season.
Selected by all senior division captains, skipper Justin Baker and batsman Michael O'Keefe were named in the side along with Spotswood's Abhijeet Sharma, Williamstown CYMS's Warren Kelly and Altona North's Jack Porter.
Baker was also named captain for the team of the year. McKinnon's Chris Hall was the run-away winner in the Paxino Medal for the player of the year in senior division, polling 43 votes. He won by 17 votes.
Porter finished fourth with 20 votes, while Baker was equal eighth.
In the Ray Scriven Medal for the North A1 division, Footscray United filled all the minor places.
Tarique Jeffery, Darren McLellan and Adam Preece all took votes off each other as they finished behind Taylors Lakes' all-rounder Glen Jones, who won his fifth medal.
Jeffery was second with 23 votes, while both McLellan and Preece finished in third with 21 votes.
