YARRAVILLE cracked the duck egg for its first win of the Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association's first XI season.
The Eagles won the battle of young and developing teams by two wickets over west group rivals Sunshine Crows in a gripping one-dayer at Dempster Park on Saturday.
Set 157 for victory, the Eagles reached the target with two wickets in hand in the second-last over.
Import Casey Maguire was the cornerstone for the Eagles with his first half-century for the club.
Maguire featured in important partnerships with Daniel Saville (14) and Alex Hewet (23), making 59 in the process. Hewet did the trick with the ball earlier in the game, taking 3-19.
