FOOTSCRAY Edgewater is barking with delight after a rare win over St Kilda in Victorian Premier Cricket at the Junction Oval on Saturday.
The Bulldogs had plenty of work to do after producing just 191 on the back of a half-century to Travis Dean.
The Dogs defied a long-standing losing streak against the Saints to win comfortably by 62 runs.
Tallan Wright was the man of the match, taking 5-15 off 13 overs to go with 25 valuable runs.
The youngster also removed one-time Sheffield Shield star Graeme Rummans for 51.
Bulldogs speedster Brad Robertson toiled hard for 3-57 off 21.3 overs.
The win moves the Bulldogs to within two points of the top eight. They'll be hoping to repeat the dose when they host second-placed Prahran at Merv Hughes Oval in a two-day scrap starting on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Footscray Edgewater has reached the second XI one-day final after obliterating Geelong in the semi-final on Sunday. The Bulldogs posted a tidy 7-270 off 50 overs with a host of contributors led by Anthony Barton (53) and Peter Herrick (49).
The Cats' run chase was stymied by some tight Doggies bowling, which included a three-wicket haul to youngster Hamish Winter-Irving.
