THIRTEEN parks will be given a much-needed facelift after Maribyrnong Council approved $440,000 for upgrades.
The work, approved last week, will include planting trees and installing paths, seats and signs.
The money will come from developer contributions to the open space reserve fund, which has collected $664,000 more than budgeted.
Spending ranges from $10,000 for Ruby Square in Braybrook to $50,000 for Harris Reserve in Seddon. The total of $440,00 includes $150,000 for signs at sports grounds.
Cr Sel Sanli said it was a case of the council getting "back to basics" and looking after parks.
"We want to make sure we get parks above the standard they're in. We understand they haven't had TLC [tender loving care] for a while."
