OPPOSITION Leader Daniel Andrews has conceded families don't care who pays the bills for the Take a Break occasional childcare service. But a funding solution remains elusive.
State and federal governments have been engaged in a running battle over who has fiscal responsibility for the $1.9million program. Speaking at the Laverton Community Centre, Mr Andrews (pictured), said the last thing families wanted were "political games". "Parents don't care which one pays the bills, they don't care which government provides the funding. They want these services and need them, and the kids benefit from them."
West Footscray Neighbourhood House manager Sharee Grinter said it continued to be frustrating for families to see two sides of the political spectrum battling over what seemed like a minimal amount of money.
