Rewarded for going her own way

Rewarded for going her own way

27 Jan, 2010 08:55 AM
THE anxious wait was finally over for Emma Lennon with the release of first-round university offers last week.

The 18-year-old secured a place in her top-preference bachelor of health sciences course at Monash University.

"Health and human development was my favourite subject at school. It's just a really interesting field," she said.

The Footscray City College graduate said there had been doubts she would be so successful. "I didn't do the subjects everyone told me to do to get into uni."

As well as health and human development, Emma studied the less traditional subjects of English, studio arts, media and dance. "I just did what I enjoyed."

Emma received an ENTER score of 94, high enough for her chosen course.
