POLICE have arrested a man over an alleged sexual assault of a pregnant woman on a Sydenham line train.
The 22-year-old woman, who was nine weeks pregnant, boarded the Sydenham-bound train at Parliament station about 4.30pm on July 16.
While standing in the doorway, she was approached from behind by a man who sexually assaulted her. Passengers helped the distressed woman to a seat and the man got off the train at Footscray station.
The 29-year-old man from Hawthorn is expected to be charged on summons.
