Hobsons Bay Men's Shed in dash for cash

28 Jul, 2010 01:00 AM
THE Hobsons Bay Men's Shed network is to apply for funding under the federal government's national male health policy.

The government announced recently that $3million would be spent on the Australian Men's Shed Association over four years.

The Hobsons Bay network, which encompasses the Altona, Gellibrand, Laverton, Williamstown and Hobsons Bay Men's Sheds, provides avenues for men to have an outlet where they can spend time together.

Spotswood Community House's Peter Martin, who helps oversee the Hobsons Bay Men's Sheds network, believes the network has a chance of receiving funds.

"Looking at what is required to be eligible, it seems that we will be in the mix to receive some. We are always looking for funding and sponsorship generally, so this is a good option."
