Artists' work goes on show

01 Sep, 2010 01:00 AM
MARIBYRNONG Makers Group,

which offers local artists a chance to display and sell their work, will hold its third market of the year next week.

The group has been organising the markets, with the theme "made in Melbourne", for three years.

Stalls at the market will include children's items, paintings, clothes, jewellery, and beads.

There will also be face-painting sessions.

For Nicole Pawley and her family, who run Almond Tree Frames in Williamstown, it's the first chance to display their wares at the market.

"Our store is not far from it, so it's a perfect location for us to showcase our work," Mrs Pawley said.

"We produce artwork for kids, using a lot of paper cuttings to make different types of frames.

"The markets allows us to showcase our work to a different audience than those who visit our shop."

The market is at the Uniting Church Hall in Seddon, from 9.30am on Saturday, September 11.
